This week, we hosted a conversation about how advocates can advance effective public health policies in a world disrupted by COVID-19—disruptions that underscore the urgency of health advocacy even while making some traditional advocacy activities more difficult.
Advocacy experts joined us from five countries and a variety of health projects, including cardiovascular health, healthy food policies, drowning prevention, road safety and preventing epidemics. They focused on three themes:
How to protect public health gains
Advocacy to strengthen health systems and achieve health equity
The importance of local budget advocacy
