Courtney Peters, Associate Director, Advocacy, oversees the Advocacy Fund, a component of the Obesity Prevention Program. The Advocacy Fund supports policy initiatives in low and middle-income countries outside of the program’s focus geographies. Through provision of critical support, the Advocacy Fund helps get promising legislative or regulatory efforts on obesity prevention policy priorities over the finish line, accompanied by technical assistance. Prior to her current role, Courtney served as the Program and Financial Compliance Officer for the Obesity Prevention Program, where she worked closely with grantees to develop and implement their work plans and budgets and provided financial oversight. Prior to joining the Global Health Advocacy Incubator, Courtney worked as a Project Director with the North Texas Alliance to Reduce Unintended Pregnancy in Teens and has also served in various capacities within state government and numerous nonprofits. Courtney brings over a decade of experience in sexual and reproductive health, obesity and tobacco prevention, and project and program management, and she holds an MPH with a specialization in Global Health.
