Stephen Atasige

Stephen Atasige is the in-country coordinator for the Prevent Epidemics and Immunization programs in Ghana. Stephen has experience working with the Ghana Health Service, Save the Children International, the African Field Epidemiology Network (AFENET), and He was a pillar manager in the Ebola response in West Africa. He worked as a technical advisor and epidemiologist on the U.S. CDC’s Field Epidemiology Training Programs in Liberia and Sierra Leone and was an epidemiology technical consultant for the WHO in Tanzania, Equatorial Guinea and Eswatini, strengthening disease outbreak investigation and response systems. Stephen has a Master of Philosophy degree in applied epidemiology and disease control, a diploma in operations research, a diploma in project management, and a bachelor’s degree in applied biomedical science. He is also a certified Results based Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist from the Cambridge Academy of Professionals-UK and the World Academy of Research and Development-UK.
