Call for Proposals in Panama, Paraguay and Uruguay: Civil Society Organizations to Advocate for Sodium Regulation in Unhealthy Food Products

The Global Health Advocacy Incubator (GHAI) invites civil society organizations (CSOs) from Panama, Paraguay and Uruguay to join the Cardiovascular Health (CVH) Program team in advocating for mandatory policies to reduce ultra-processed product consumption, focusing on sodium regulation in manufactured food. We will be accepting applications for partnership until December 23, 2024, 11:59pm EST.

GHAI uses the power of advocacy to reduce preventable deaths and to improve health at scale by changing policies and strengthening systems. We support CSOs and advocacy movements to pass public health policies that save lives, reduce disease and prevent injuries, increase investments in public health and create a healthier and more equitable future for all. GHAI is an initiative of the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids.  As part of GHAI’s Food and Nutrition programs, the CVH team has worked across Africa, Asia and the Americas to advocate for evidence-informed policies that support healthy, sustainable food systems and ensure everyone’s right to access nutritious food.

Who Can Apply

GHAI is seeking CSOs from Panama, Paraguay and Uruguay who have a well-developed understanding of their country’s government and advocacy landscape. Interested CSOs should have some experience in supporting healthy, sustainable food systems and advocating for the right to access nutritious food. We encourage applications from organizations that are interested in building movements to reduce the demand for ultra-processed products to increase access to nutritious food and in holding the industry accountable for the health and environmental damage they cause.
