Berta Bekele coordinates our cardiovascular health work in Ethiopia. He has more than 13 years of experience as an attorney, legal consultant, and law lecturer. He has served as an attorney and consultant at law in federal courts and legal consultant in the Ethiopian Food and Medicine Authority, drafting more than 20 food- and medicine-related directives in collaboration with partners. He was involved in presenting a brief on food and medicine regulations before the Council of Ministers in 2012, and has provided high-caliber legislative and policy advice to public, private, and civil society sectors. Berta holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Master of Laws in Business and Investment Laws.
