Dr. Emelyne Calimoutou is the Associate Director of Legal Advocacy for the Data for Health Program, bringing over 10 years of experience as an International Human Rights Lawyer and Researcher. She has worked with global institutions like the World Bank, leading European law firms and the French judicial system to advance human rights and justice. In her most recent role as a Senior Legal and Gender Specialist for the World Bank, she made significant contributions to regional projects across more than twelve African countries. Emelyne has led high-level policy dialogues and assisted governments in drafting legislation that has driven reforms in reproductive health, gender equality and women's rights. She also created and managed a network of African lawyers and policymakers, advocating for women's and girls' rights through legal reforms. Her work has earned multiple recognitions, including the prestigious World Bank President’s Award for Excellence and has been featured in international journals and conferences. Emelyne holds a Ph.D. in Law, an LL.M., an MBA and is pursuing a Master’s in Public Health at George Washington University.
