Maria N. Nkalubo is the In-Country Coordinator for the Road Safety Program in Uganda at GHAI. She facilitates efforts with country-level and global partners to advance national road safety policies, including provision of strategic advocacy guidance and technical support. Previously, she served as a Principal Operations Officer with the Uganda Ministry of Health. In this role, she was the focal person for road safety and drowning prevention at sector level. She liaised with WHO, the Ministry of Works and Transport, representatives from civil society and other key government agencies to elevate post-crash care issues and emergency medical services. She brings a thoughtful and strategic approach to public health issues that she has gained over a period of 9 years while at the Ministry of Health, Uganda and is committed to amplification of the efforts of the Road Safety Advocacy Coalition of Uganda.
