Munawar Hussain

Munawar is the in-country coordinator for the Food and Nutrition program in Pakistan. He supports partners in the design, development and execution of advocacy campaigns across our food and nutrition portfolio. He is a program design, research and policy expert with more than two decades of professional experience in public health and nutrition—including in supporting national and subnational governments for the design and development of public health and nutrition policies, programs and action plans. In past roles, he has led country strategies, projects, advocacy campaigns and served in key management positions with national and international organizations. He also undertook consultancy assignments with the public sector, INGOs and UN agencies. With several policy victories in his professional portfolio, recent achievements include leading a well-structured advocacy campaign in Pakistan and achieving two consecutive policy victories on increasing taxes on sugar-sweetened beverages.
