Nadia Flexner serves as the Associate Director of Research in the Cardiovascular Health Program. In this role, she provides technical support to country partners to ensure that the most recent and policy-relevant research is brought to bear on policy advocacy campaigns. Prior to her role at the Global Health Advocacy Incubator, Nadia worked as a Nutrition Policy Consultant at the Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO). There, she provided technical support to Member States for the adoption, implementation and monitoring of various food and nutrition policies. These policies included areas such as breastfeeding, complementary feeding, adolescent nutrition, eliminating industrially-produced trans-fats from the food supply, strategies for reducing sodium intake, front-of-pack nutrition labeling and applying social marketing for public health issues. Nadia has expertise in dietary assessment, nutrient profiling systems and the use of simulation modeling methods to estimate the health and economic impacts of food policies.
