Wesley Kapaya Mwambazi serves as Zambia’s Advocacy In-Country Coordinator for the Global Health Advocacy Incubator’s (GHAI) Data for Health (D4H) Program and Immunization. In this role, he collaborates with various stakeholders and supports two key projects within the Health Systems Strengthening Unit: Immunization Financing and Data for Health.
Wesley brings over 20 years of experience, primarily from his work in the Ministry of Health's planning and budgeting department, where he engaged with cooperating partners and led budget advocacy efforts in collaboration with civil society organizations (CSOs) in the health sector. Before joining GHAI, he was the Governance Specialist for the Zambia COVID-19 Emergency Response and Health Systems Preparedness World Bank project. His previous roles also include Assistant Director for Healthcare Financing, Principal Planner, and Financial Specialist within the Ministry of Health.
Wesley is currently pursuing a PhD and holds a Master of Science degree in Economics and Finance. He is also a certified member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), bringing a robust analytical and financial perspective to his work in health systems strengthening.
